2008.08.28. A beautiful picture of redemption for the nations. Jer 12:14-17.

Jer 12:14 Thus says the LORD concerning all my evil neighbors who touch the heritage that I have given my people Israel to inherit: "Behold, I will pluck them up from their land, and I will pluck up the house of Judah from among them.
Jer 12:15 And after I have plucked them up, I will again have compassion on them, and I will bring them again each to his heritage and each to his land.
Jer 12:16 And it shall come to pass, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, 'As the LORD lives,' even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they shall be built up in the midst of my people.
Jer 12:17 But if any nation will not listen, then I will utterly pluck it up and destroy it, declares the LORD."

This aspect of life given through the grafting in of all peoples through the nation of Israel shows God's great mercy and plan for all nations to come to know Him. The reason for destroying of these other nations was so that peoples would not influence his people away from Him. But now they are allowed to be with the nation of Israel in order to know Him. They shal be built up in the midst of my people: if they will diligently learn the ways of my people. A complete flip of what was before has now changed to include the nations so that all may come to glorify Him.

Such as it is that we are to live and offer the truth of His ways to others that they might have life in Him. Oh Father that I would not be ashamed but willing to share the message of Christ with all those who need to hear His name. I pray dear God that I would abide in Your son that I would be willing to hear and see you as you are working that I would join you where you are at and not listen to my own voice but yours alone.

amen

2008.08.27. Boast in HIm. Jer 9:23-24.

Jer 9:23 Thus says the LORD: "Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches,
Jer 9:24 but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD."

The goodness of the Lord, who He is, what he practices is what the Lord delights in. More than what we can procduce or make is the greatness of the Lord that we can have life. When I delight in myself, my own products it leads to death. I live in a place that is fleeting, that vascilates between sweet and terrible, dependant on my products.

May I live in the understanding of the Lord, His steadfast love, justice and righteousness in the earth. For there is life here not in me. Amen.
